"And as I began to stare, her delicate hands rose towards her skirt as her bleached golden skin shone avidly in the Mediterranean sun. She was beautiful, unquestionably exquisite, and my mind ran wild with future endeavour. Not alone was her beauty, for her timing was also flawless. I was vulnerable, thoughts became dangerous as I fell desperately out of favour over the idea of love. Heartache left a bitterness in the mouth that only alcohol could temporarily wash away. Yet there she was. Purched on golden sands, she laid both blissfully and patient, waiting for me to make my move. As my heart pounded like the blue, tempestuous waves that laid before me, I mustered the courage, rose to my feet and headed in her direction. I edged closer and sat myself next to this permiscious form, shadowed amongst the pines; my sun bleached baby. The conversation was loose, her broken English posed detriment to our attempts of flirtation, yet that didn't matter. Her polished nails waved back and forth, prompting me to move closer, close enough to feel her breath upon my skin. As she reached towards me, as her lips approached mine, a natural instinct masked my desires as I turned my head downwards towards the sand. My instinctive reaction proved to be my saviour, for when I looked downwards, it wasn't the sand which caught my eye: her tight bikini exposed something I didn't expect to see. Katryn had yet to realise what had happened, as her manhood laid there staring at me. I attempted to compose myself, attempted to mask my latest uncovering to not make her feel uncomfortable. We continued to talk until I eventually vacated the area with a smile on my face that hadn't before existed. I sobered up and gained perspective. This situation would have created hostility for some, embarassment for most, yet it left me with a sense of clarity that had been missing for so long. I drifted along the promenade in ecstacy, in true bewilderment to my new found discovery. Katryn taught me that heartache can only truly be overcome by oneself. Awaiting on a new found love, a 'saviour' is only a distraction of your own sadness. Emotional complications need to be confronted personally, and, relying on external influence is an impermanent solution. Although somewhat contradictory, Katryn was my saviour, as it was her who instigated a returning sense of contentment within me. She evoked a sense of emotional freedom that neither I or those close to me could inspire. I still question why this experience helped me, and I believe it is because I sympathised with her. Physically, she was hiding herself from the world in the hope of physical intimacy - human connection. She was searching for belonging, as was I. And, I believe I found it in its most unconventional of states. The beauty of irony: one can find salvation, clarity and contentment in situations of unease, disappointment and irregularity. So Katryn, my saviour, I devote this song to you..." Chris Finney

"Close your eyes and it's all bluesy, sun-kissed rock'n'roll with a side of gentle psychedelia. Classy stuff from a very promising act."
